Trio of new services signals diversification for building services firm

Commercial building services engineering firm, Robinsons M & E, has introduced three new service elements to its range of client services.

A dedicated social housing division, refurbishment works and specialist construction site setup support services are available to local authorities, social housing providers, private landlords, and construction businesses.

Established in 1963 and operating nationally out of Harrogate, the firm is now one of the UK’s leading building services, engineering and property maintenance contractors having been acquired by Leeds-based First Response Group in May this year.

Over the years, Robinsons M & E has fostered long-standing relationships with many local authorities, housing association and private clients across the UK. Recent successes include a £1.8 million factory installation for multi-national construction products firm Saint-Gobain, a £1.3 million care home for The Fisher Care Group via Marshall (Building Contractors) and a £1.7 million project for The University of Leeds via Sewell Construction and Henry Boot Construction.

Robinsons M&E’s planned and responsive maintenance and refurbishment services are provided for social housing providers across the UK. The range of services includes landlord compliance checks and tests, replacement and renewal installations and disability adaptations.

The refurbishment works offering covers everything from electrical rewires/upgrades and solar panelling to boiler installs and replacement programmes to plastering/ rendering and external wall insulation.

The site setup services division provides a full design based service with professionals on hand to install a range of temporary services as required, including temporary electrics, plumbing and emergency lighting. Site setup engineers will also assist with the installation, 24 hours call-out maintenance support and removal of site services.

Managing Director, Edgar Chibaka, commented: “Robinsons M & E’s exemplary commitment to client care and excellent track record in hard facilities management combined with highly qualified staff and a varied portfolio have positioned it at the forefront of Yorkshire’s commercial building services solutions for over 50 years.

“Building on this solid reputation and introducing First Response Group’s nationwide footprint into the mix along with a new range of service elements and expertise, presents a formidable offering for local authorities, social housing providers, housing associations, and private landlords and construction companies across the UK.”

Other core services provided include mechanical, electrical and air conditioning.
